A share of the points under difficult conditions was a fair result in todays game  at Avondale Park.  Billy McCarthy was in action on 10 mins with a save from Dylan McNamara.   It was a game of half chances  David O Leary shot over on 20 mins for Avondale and Stuart O'Rourke should have done better for Cobh on 23 mins and Simon Falvey saw his chance blocked by Shane Hallahans feet.. It was tough throughout the game and a man of the match performance by the tireless Andy Gannon saw him win the midfield battle for the Dale's. James Sheehan went off injured but Eli Kadi Harrington stepped nicely into his slot.   Late in game Falvey was in on goal but a timely interception by Collins denied the home team. Cobh tried hard to find a breakthrough but Cian O Connor was off target twice and Alan Flynn chip was easily dealt with by McCarthy and the Dale's saw the game out.. 

We lose the popular David Dalton who leaves to start work abroad on Tuesday and we wish him well.
